For 50 years, Mama’s has been an integral part of the greater Hackettstown community. Even during this challenging year of COVID, Mama’s Restaurant & Cafe Baci on Mountain Avenue has fully remained committed to their patrons–and their staff. 

“We’ve always taken pride in how we treat our customers–and team members,” said Austin Schiano, speaking on behalf of the Schiano family, which has owned the restaurant for generations.

The place where you find your favorite chicken parm and pepperoni pizza, but with full keto and gluten-free menus as well as a vegan menu, Mama's Cafe Baci in Hackettstown isn’t your average Italian restaurant. One item on that vegan menu is the vegan scallop appetizer, which includes seared trumpet mushrooms over a mixed green salad with citrus vinaigrette. “There’s a real art to making them,” she said. “We have to marinate and sear them a certain way, but the texture of the mushroom really makes them taste exactly like a real scallop.”

“We at Mama’s have implemented and re-designed our pick-up, take out, delivery and curbside operation strategies,” Tom Schiano, owner of Mama’s Restaurant & Café Baci said. “Beyond that, we have made actionable adaptions to our restrooms, implemented a ‘sanitation station’ for guests, introduced the utilization of contactless pay options, of course use of masks, and utility gloves.”
